MAYBELLINE NEW YORK has announced that Jessica White is its newest spokesperson, joining Christy Turlington, Erin Wasson, Adriana Lima, Tomiko Fraser, Julia Stegner and Zhang Ziyi.
White is best known for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (2003–5, 2007) and on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show catwalk, beginning in 2006.
Some dubbed her ‘the new Iman’, based on her African–American heritage.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, White was discovered when she was 16 and moved to Paris soon after. She modelled in campaigns for Chloé and the Gap, became a regular on the catwalks and has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar and Teen Vogue. She has had an acting appearance—in the otherwise forgettable Big Momma’s House 2—and has featured in a music video for John Legend and Jay-Z.
According to Maybelline, White founded a charitable foundation called Angel Wings, which helps children in her Buffalo home town.
‘Maybelline products are a part of every woman's life and I am so honoured to represent the African–American community for a brand I have grown up with,’ she says.
The campaigns featuring White begin running in February 2008. •

As expected, from the land of coffee, Seattle, comes this cute and adorable innovation. Cup Couture. Great for your office and if you truly do not serve great coffee in your establishment, this draws attention AWAY from the cofee. If you do serve amazing coffee, then you just look extra efficient and so darn well together! Enjoy.

PARIS — Groupe Clarins' newest line of moisturizers, HydraQuench Multi-Climate, is meant to suit any face anywhere on earth.
That's because the five creams and lotions in the collection, due out worldwide in January, are blended to allow people to chose formulations adapted to their type of skin or local climate, according to company executives.
Before it comes out, Clarins has the most fantastic skin care line ever. Tired of all lifes stresses? Well, make sure they never show up on your face. Try their Urban Protection
The collection, designed by designers, musicians and artists, begins retailing in H&M stores globally in February 2008. The artists ? which also included Chicks on Speed, Good Charlotte, Henrik Vibskov, Katharine Hamnett, My Chemical Romance, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Tiga, and Ziggy Marley - donated their services for free.
Plans are for 25 percent of the proceeds from the collection to go to HIV/AIDS prevention projects around the world. Another key goal in creating the collection ? to be named Fashion Against AIDS ? is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among young people. Twelve million people in the 15 to 24 age group are now infected with the virus.
"Supporting YouthAIDS through the Fashion Against AIDS campaign was a great way to encourage my fans to join me in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I love that H&M is providing a fashionable and easy way for young people all over the world to get involved in this worthy cause," Rihanna said in a release.
Designers Against AIDS (DAA), a non-profit organization that seeks to mold public opinion through joint ventures between fashion designers, musicians and other artists, initiated the venture. Read more
The good thing is that the Empire-waistline has been the biggest blessing of year. Pinched into place just below the bust, it casts a forgiving flare over less-than-perfect waistlines, which may well be bordering on waste-lines, no thanks to festive feasts!
Slender belts, another trend of the year, also worn high, created the illusion of being at least a size smaller. The things we women do! Read more
Okay, Naomi is gorgeous but is this true? It must be a publicity stunt for British GQ, but why would Castro and Chavez agree to it?
New York, December 25 (ANI): Supermodel Naomi Campbell has turned a political correspondent, for she has reportedly been assigned to interview Fidel Castro for British GQ in Cuba.
She is also said to be lining up an interview in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez, the anti-American blowhard she visited earlier this year, reports the New York Post.
The newspaper also reports that Castro is known for giving access to female reporters whom he finds attractive.
The paper mentions Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer as such attractive female reporters. (ANI) . Stay tuned!

Now teens can adopt Beyoncé's style for their prom dress.
The singer-actress and her mother, Tina Knowles, are relaunching their House of Deréon brand this spring as a high-end contemporary dress line — and many of the styles are based on what Beyoncé Knowles has worn on stage, making them perfect for the prom.
When you think of Beyonce's style, no doubt your first thoughts turn to bling and extravagant eveningwear, so it's no surprise that she's now turning her hand to dressing girls for prom. House of Dereon, the label she created with her stylist mother Tina Knowles, originally hit the shelves as a contemporary denim and sportswear line, but it's now going to be relaunched with a new focus - high-end formalwear.
Apparently, Tina Knowles gets stopped by girls in the street asking her to make their prom dresses, and though she doesn't have time to do that, she is helping them out with this new range!
When they go on sale in January, the cocktail and formal dresses will retail from $150 upwards.

As much as your family love you, they probably do make very touching mistakes about what you like and what they can afford. I got an extremely practcal gift this year, for my car. I also got a popcorn maker and popcorn flovors. ( I am a popcorn addict)
I also got the Victoria Beckham perfume. Yikes, I did not even know she had perfume!
All I did was watch her "coming to America" show on TV and my kds decided I was in love with her!
Write and comment on your most interesting gifts this year. They won't read this blog, I promise.

Karen Zambos with her extensive line of ‘Vintage Couture’ has taken the idea of bohemian luxury to new levels of comfort, ease and sophistication. The Chicago native embodies the spirit of her customers: confident, sexy, and intelligent.
These are women who adore fashion but want pieces that let their own independent personalities shine through.
Karen Zambos designs do just that. Karen Zambos relocated to Los Angeles ten years ago, where she made her mark at L.A.’s eponymous boutique, Tracey Ross. She assisted with buying and was hands-on in dressing the store's very discerning and glamorous patrons.
It became apparent to Karen very quickly that what women wanted to wear was very similar to Zambos’ no-fuss, slip-it-on style. Her humble design beginnings were experiments in reconstruction. She gathered vintage pieces and re-worked them till they were more wearable and modern.
The Karen Zambos jumpsuit redefines sexy.Jumpsuit with deep V neck and hidden zipper at front. Belted waist. Wide leg.31" inseam.100% polyester.Dry clean.Made in the U.S.A. Available at shopbop.com Was $319 now $118
This evolved into the start of a fabulous hands-on ‘vintage couture’ line that quickly filled a gaping hole in the market with 70’s inspired dresses, one-size-fits-all shrugs and much more. ‘Karen Zambos Vintage Couture’ was launched and hasn’t slowed down since. Her original creations made from vintage, rare and eclectic fabrics now include kimono dresses, corseted leather belts, lace-trimmed tunics, gorgeous cocktail dresses and swinging, backless jumpsuits. Her expansive collection keeps growing and so does her appreciative clientele.
Karen Zambos includes Gwen Stefani, Mariska Hargitay, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Lindsay Lohan, Eve Jeffers, Jessica and Ashley Simpson and Nicole Richie as just a few of her stylish and loyal clients. Though Karen Zambos may openly draw inspiration from the past, her designs are very much rooted in what modern women of today are wearing.
As her line is now carried throughout the country, this year took ‘Karen Zambos Vintage Couture’ overseas into Japan. And as women all over are slipping into a ‘Vintage Couture’ piece before they start their busy days, one thing is clear: the future of this designer is very bright indeed.
